WE NEED YOUR VOICE!!!!

At our last Citizens Committee meeting we didn’t have enough in attendance to make a quorum and conduct committee business.  There are some issues in the city that affect you and your family – primarily in the pocketbook.  Please come and join with us, let your voice be heard and demonstrate your concern for your community.  Our next meeting will be on Thursday, December 15, 2011 in Room 331 at City Hall (see the sidebar) at 7:00 p.m.   We will be electing 2012 Officers and announcing upcoming issues that will affect ALL OF US.

Congratulations to District Election Winners…

Congratulations to the following winners of the West Jordan City Council district elections (based on the unofficial totals posted by Salt Lake County on their website):

District 1: Christopher M. McConnehey (50.76%)
District 2: Judith M. Hansen (57.19%)
District 3: Ben Southworth (57.35%)
District 4: Justin Stoker (51.36%)

District 1 & 4 are very close, and the final tally on November 22nd at City Council Meeting will make the results official on who the winners really are.

Meet the Candidates review…

The WJ Citizens Committee co-sponsored the only “Meet the Candidates” meeting in conjunction with the WJ Chamber of Commerce and the PTA on October 27th at West Hills Middle School.  The format was very relaxed, allowing attendees to visit with their respective candidates in each of the districts that they will be voting for.  Click HERE to see pictures from the event.

Two “Meet the Candidates” Nights scheduled…

The West Jordan Chamber of Commerce, the PTA and the West Jordan Citizens Committee are co-sponsoring a “Meet the Candidates” night at West Hills Middle School, 8270 S. Grizzly Way, on Thursday, October 27th, from 7-9 p.m.

Aaron Thompson is putting together another “Meet the Candidates” night for District 4 on Thursday, October 13th.  No time has been announced yet.
